The AirMini doesn't use a water tub — instead it humidifies with a small HME (heat and moisture exchanger) that sits in the mask-connector/vent path. As you breathe out, the HME's fine paper ridges capture heat and moisture; as you breathe in, it releases them back — warming and moistening your air without any water. That's what makes waterless, travel-friendly humidification possible.
HumidX (standard) is the everyday version, for average conditions — it eases dryness and congestion for most users in most climates. (If you're often in dry air, or get dryness on the standard, the higher-moisture HumidX Plus is the step up.)
It's a disposable consumable: each cartridge is used for up to 30 days from opening, then replaced. Larger packs (the 50-pack especially) bring the per-unit cost down and keep a long supply on hand.
Compatibility: HumidX cartridges work with the AirMini and its nasal / pillow masks — AirFit P10, AirFit N30, and AirFit/AirTouch N20. They are not for the F20/F30 full face masks (the F20 uses its own HumidX F20; the F30 isn't HumidX-compatible at all).
