Humidification makes CPAP far more comfortable for many people — it eases the dry nose, mouth, and throat that dry pressurized air can cause. The water tub is where that happens: it holds the water the device warms to add moisture to your therapy air.
This is the standard HumidAir 11 tub. ResMed offers the HumidAir 11 in two versions:
Both do the same humidifying job; the difference is cleaning and longevity. The tub is a wear item — mineral scale builds up over time, and seals and clarity degrade — so it's replaced periodically.
Generation matters: the HumidAir 11 tub is designed for the Air11 series and is not interchangeable with the Air10 HumidAir tub (37479). Match the tub to your exact device.

Empty and rinse the tub daily, and clean it regularly per the ResMed instructions (use distilled water where possible to reduce mineral scale). Replace the tub if you see cracks, cloudiness, persistent scale that won't clean off, or a seal that no longer seats properly. Using distilled water and regular cleaning extends its life.

When should I replace it? If it's cracked, cloudy, persistently scaled, or the seal no longer seats properly.
