Adaptive servo-ventilation (ASV) is a form of bilevel therapy for breathing patterns that a fixed pressure can't manage well — particularly central sleep apnea, mixed apnea, and periodic (Cheyne-Stokes) breathing, where the drive to breathe itself varies. Rather than holding a set pressure, ASV continuously monitors your breathing and adjusts pressure support breath by breath, smoothing out the pattern. It's fundamentally different from CPAP or standard BiPAP, and is a clinician-prescribed and clinician-titrated therapy for specific confirmed diagnoses.
This is the cellular version (built-in modem, automatic data upload). The added ClimateLineAir heated tube warms the air along its length to prevent condensation "rainout," working with the device's Climate Control for consistent temperature and humidity to the mask — especially valued by anyone who runs higher humidity or keeps a cool bedroom.
ASV therapy has a well-established contraindication: it is generally not appropriate for patients with symptomatic chronic heart failure with a reduced ejection fraction (low LVEF), based on clinical trial findings. This is one reason ASV must only ever be prescribed and set up by a physician who has confirmed it's appropriate for you.
